Team Acceptance

Full acceptance into this event is based on the verification of qualification status, payment of the registration fee and compliance with the housing requirements.

Housing Policy

All participating teams MUST contact GET Sports in order to participate in this event. Teams located outside 90 driving miles of registration address are required to book a minimum of 6 room nights per team through the official event housing partner, GET Travel Sports. The housing policy is required for any events that take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (whether it is soccer, baseball, softball, football, etc.). Please do not make any direct reservations on your own. Call, email or book online at your earliest convenience by calling 888-877-4445 Option 3 between the hours of 10:30am and 8:00pm Eastern Standard Time, visiting their website or E-Mailing info@GETTravel.com.

Game Schedules

The schedules are slated to be posted by Sunday, July 23th by 10PM and the link for them will be found on the event's information page.

All Divisions will play all three days and games can be scheduled to start as early as 8:00 AM each of the days. Last games on Friday and Saturday will be scheduled to start as early as possible to avoid Florida's afternoon thunderstorms and to give teams a chance to visit the theme parks and attractions but can go as late until 3-4pm. Sunday's last games are planned to start between 2 and 3. Teams should be prepared to play at any time between this.

Keep in mind that weather delays are possible and if there are weather delays, the schedule will be pushed back to allow us to catch up.  The complex has excellent drainage and we will include a lot of time in the schedule to allow for rain delays. We do have the complex reserved for Monday,  but we feel that it is very unlikely that weather will push games to Monday

In General, Pool Games will be played Friday and Saturday. Some Bracket games will begin Saturday afternoon. Most Bracket games will be played on Sunday.

Most teams will play 1, 2 or 3 Games on Friday and 1,2, or 3 on Saturday, and 1,2, or 3 on Sunday if they advance to bracket play. Teams advancing to the Championship in large Divisions could play as many as 4 games on either Saturday or Sunday, but not both.

Teams are responsible for checking their schedules online before the tournament and after each game during the tournament. Teams are expected to know their own results as far as Game Points, Goal Differential, Goals Scored, and Goals allowed and report any discrepancies to the Score Center.

*** Any scheduling questions/requests must be submitted by using the Contact link located on our website and then by selecting the Scheduling Question option from the drop down. No scheduling questions/requests will be accepted via any other methods.

Please understand that while we try our best to accommodate reasonable requests, for an event of this scope, not every request can or will be honored/considered. Additionally, any requests made must be received by July 17th to even be considered.

For coaches that have multiple teams competing, please have a back up in place to assist you in case there are times we cannot avoid having the teams play at the same time or if fields runs behind schedule.***

Brackets and Seeding -   Click here for more details about brackets and seeding

Large Divisions will break up into separate brackets based on the results of pool play.

Divisions with 12 or more teams will break into two Divisions after pool play, with the top teams advancing to the Gold Division and the rest advancing to the Silver Division.  Divisions with 18 or more teams will break up into 3 Divisions after Pool play with the top teams in the Gold Division, the next going into the Silver Division and the teams with the worst records going into the Bronze Division

Weather Policy

We do not stop play just for rain. If there is dangerous weather, especially the threat of lightning, Disney will notify us all when to suspend play until it is safe to resume. There is a complex wide sound system that will announce the stoppage of play and will tell teams where to go to seek shelter. The all clear to resume play will be announced on the same system. At that time teams are to return to the fields for the resumption of play. There is time built into the schedule to allow for weather delays throughout the tournament. While it is not expected to be necessary, the facilities are available on Monday in the event of extreme weather delays. Challenge Sports will not be liable for any expenses incurred by teams like travel or hotel costs if the event cannot be concluded due to play having to be cancelled because of weather conditions.

Game Scorecards

Please check the card before leaving the field to confirm the score is correct. Any game card that has been determined to have been altered will result in the game being forfeited and may subject the team to disqualification from the event without refund.

Game Results

Game results will be recorded when the scorecard is turned in and verified. All results will be posted online. You can view the game results via from the schedules' links. The online results will be viewable fromm any mobile device, computer or by using the terminals located around the Scorecenter. Teams are responsible for checking their results during the event and after each game. Teams are expected to know their own results as far as Game Points, Goal Differential, Goals Scored, and Goals allowed and report any discrepancies to the Scorecenter.

Field Time Before Event

Unfortunately the game fields are not open for play/practice before the event.

COMP vs REC

U9 and older teams must enter as COMP or REC based on the definition found on the Rec or Comp? page on our web site. ANY U9 and older teams entering in the Rec Division must present a completed and signed Verification of Recreational Status (pdf) form at check-in. Teams will not be allowed to play in U9 and older REC Divisions unless this form is turned in with all signatures. Teams found to be playing illegally in a Rec Division will forfeit all of their matches and will not be eligible for a refund of any kind.

BRACKETS AND SEEDING INFORMATION

The Ranking data that was compiled for all entered teams was used to seed the teams in each division. The top ranked team is seed #1, second ranked  team is seed #2, etc. The tables below show how the seeds are distributed among the groups in large divisions. The rational behind seeding is to create balanced groups that, if teams play to the level of their ranking, will result in the top teams advancing to bracket play rather than knocking each other off in pool play.

Large Divisions with 12 or more teams feed two or three brackets with teams moving into the Gold, Silver, or Bronze Divisions based on their success in pool play. By creating balanced groups, the teams will all move into the Bracket that is most representative of their level of play. When there are teams in a Division that are from the same club or have players from the same team, the Competition Committee will make minor adjustments to try to prevent those teams from meeting each other in pool play. Those adjustments will be made with the intent of minimizing any effect of the balance between the groups in the division.
