GENERAL INFORMATION

 

WHAT:  The 9th Annual Melbourne Area Girls Labor Day Challenge.  The largest Labor Day "girls teams only" soccer tournament in the world.

 

WHERE:  Games will be played at  Hoover Jr. High School, Indialantic  , and Kelly West Park  &  Robert Louis Stevenson Elem., Merritt Island, Gemini/Flutie Park, Viera Regional Park,   and others TBD

 

WHO:   for GIRLS teams from U9 through U19.   

U9 & U10 play 6v6

U11 & U12 play 8v8

U13 & up play 11v11

 

HOW: 

Applications will be taken by mail, online, email or fax.    Teams will not be eligible for "acceptance" to this tournament until the registration fee has been received.  Entry fees received after the deadline date must include the late fee, no exceptions.  Any team not accepted will receive a refund. Any team which withdraws after the application deadline will not be eligible for a refund.   Each team (TEAM CONTACT) will receive all the necessary forms by email and internet.

 

ENTRY FEE

$450 for U13 to U19 (11v11)

$390 for U11 & U12 (8v8)

$330 for  U9 U10 (6v6)

Checks made payable to "Challenge  Sports" and mailed to 2440 Michigan St., Melbourne, FL 32904

Teams entering after the Deadline Date Aug 8, must include a $60 late fee with their entry fee.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

 Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games.   A typical schedule will include - three qualifying games the first 2 days, with semifinals and finals on the 3rd day.

U13 to U19 teams play 11 a side, and may carry up to 18 players on their roster.

U11 and U12 play  8 a side and may carry up to 14 players on roster

U9 and U10 teams play 6 a side, and may carry up to 12 players.

Up to 3 guest players will be allowed.  Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games.

 

Teams, Players and Coaches must be in good standing and registered with their State or National Association.  Players and Coaches must have CURRENT, VALID, VERIFIED PASSES.  Proper travel procedures must be followed.  Each team must submit a ROSTER which has been verified by its State Association, and MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS for each player.  All necessary forms will be provided.  During the tournament, a player may play for one team only.  Click here for rules  >>>  Labor Day Challenge rules

 

COMMUNICATIONS

Each team must have an EMAIL and INTERNET contact person – all tournament communications are done by email and internet!   Be sure to include your email address on your application!  All Schedules and Results will be posted on the web site.   We welcome questions and suggestions.

 

HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS

The tournament committee has arranged for special room rates at a number of local hotels.   A hotel list can be viewed on the web site click here.  Each team is responsible for making its own reservations and payment arrangements.  We encourage you to stay at our Official Tournament Hotels which support youth soccer.  Game scores will be faxed to tournament hotels Saturday and Sunday  nights.

 

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN

A mandatory credentials check will be held on Friday evening, Aug. 31, location TBD.     Each team must have a representative at this check-in
