GENERAL INFORMATION

 

WHAT:  The 13th Annual Melbourne Area Beaches Girls Labor Day Challenge.  The largest Labor Day "girls teams only" soccer tournament in the world.

 

WHERE:  Games will be played in  Merritt Island, Indialantic, Satellite Beach and Melbourne Beach ,

 

WHO:   for GIRLS teams from U9 through U19.   

U9 & U10 play 6v6

U11 & U12 play 8v8

U13 & up play 11v11

 

HOW: 

Applications will be taken by mail, online, email or fax.    Teams will not be eligible for "acceptance" to this tournament until the registration fee has been received.  Entry fees received after the deadline date must include the late fee, no exceptions.  Any team not accepted will receive a refund. Any team which withdraws after the application deadline will not be eligible for a refund.   Each TEAM CONTACT person will be the main contact for communications by email and internet.

 

ENTRY FEE

$390 for U9 & U10 - play 6 a side

$470 for U11 & U12 - play 8 a side 

$560 for U13 to U16 - play 11 a side

$600 for U17 to U19 - play 11 a side

Teams entering after the Deadline Date Aug 10, must include a $60 late fee with their entry fee.

 U09 -  (8/1/2002 thru 7/31/2003)

 U15 -  (8/1/96 thru 7/31/97)

 U10 -  (8/1/2001 thru 7/31/2002)

 U16 -  (8/1/95 thru 7/31/96)

 U11 -  (8/1/2000 thru 7/31/2001)

 U17 -  (8/1/94 thru 7/31/95)

 U12 -  (8/1/99 thru 7/31/00)

 U18 - (8/1/93 thru 7/31/94)

 U13 -  (8/1/98 thru 7/31/99)

U19 - (8/1/92 thru 7/31/93)

 U14 -  (8/1/97 thru 7/31/98)

 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

 Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games.   A typical schedule will include - three qualifying games the first 2 days, with semifinals and finals on the 3rd day.

U17 to U19 teams play 11 a side, and may carry up to 22 players on their roster.

U13 to U16 teams play 11 a side, and may carry up to 18 players on their roster.

U11 and U12 play  8 a side and may carry up to 14 players on roster

U9 and U10 teams play 6 a side, and may carry up to 12 players.

Up to 5 guest players will be allowed.  Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games.

 

Teams, Players and Coaches must be in good standing and registered with their State or National Association.  Players and Coaches must have CURRENT, VALID, VERIFIED PASSES.  Proper travel procedures must be followed.  See Forms & Information   During the tournament, a player may play for one team only.  

 

COMMUNICATIONS

Each team must have an EMAIL and INTERNET contact person – all tournament communications are done by email and internet!   Be sure to include your email address on your application!  All Schedules and Results will be posted on the web site.   We welcome questions and suggestions, contact us.

 

HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS

The tournament, with the help of Avanti Travel, has arranged for special room rates at a number of local hotels. Click for Hotel information.   Non-commuting teams must stay at one of the official tournament hotels  - book through Avanti - contact Avanti 1-800-560-9946 (M-Fr 9am to 5pm, Sat 10am to 1pm EST) or book online.     The Host Hotel is the Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach.

 

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN

A mandatory credentials check will be held on Friday evening at the Host Hotel the Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach.   Each team must have a representative at this check-in
