December 9  Bulletin Sent to All Entered Teams

Only a few days to go before the tournament and the excitement is building. The rain that fell today and will continue into Tuesday is making the job of preparing the fields a challenge for Trey Clark and for Wil Smith’s Recreation and Parks staff, but they are up to the challenge. The weather will dry out by Wednesday and the weekend forecast is for great soccer weather (for those of you who went to play at Jekyll Island last weekend, it won’t be quite as cold as it was then)

Keep all of these important things in mind as you prepare for the weekend

<>Credentials – Don’t let the dreaded “paperwork monster” ruin the weekend for your team. To be sure that you are completely prepared, go to the forms page on our web site (http://www.challengesports.com/PonteVedra3v3/FORMS.htm ) and make sure that you will have these three important items

  • 1. Proof of Age for each player (Birth Certificate or FYSA/GYSA player Pass are the best forms)
  • 2. Final Roster/Waiver form properly signed.  Remember that you can change your roster all the way until you turn in the Final Roster/Waiver Form on Saturday (http://www.challengesports.com/PonteVedra3v3/OptionsRosterWaiver.htm )                    
  • 3. Notarized Medical release form for each player under 18 (http://www.challengesports.com/FORMS/medicalForm.doc )

    <> T-Shirt Pre-Orders - The deadline for T-shirt Pre-Orders to arrive here is Tuesday December 10. If you haven’t sent your order in yet, you can still get in on the $4 per shirt savings vs the price at the tournament by emailing the order to Preorder@ChallengeSports.com by the end of the day Tuesday. Just include your name, team age and name and the number of shirts of each size you want. You can use the T-shirt Preorder form as a guide to your order ( http://www.challengesports.com/PonteVedra3v3/TshirtForm.htm ) With the winter weather we are seeing, we have added a long sleeve T-shirt to the Pre-Order form. If you ordered regular T-shirts and want to change to the long sleeve, send us an email by Tuesday night and we can adjust your order.

    <> Team Check-in - Each team is asked to be at the field with all player 1 hour before their first game on Saturday for check-in.

    <>Schedules – The schedules will be posted Thursday afternoon Dec 12th on our Web site.

    <> Hotels – If you will be staying at a hotel while you are here for the tournament, let us know which one. That will make it possible for us to get in touch with you Saturday night in case there are any changes in the Sunday Schedules

    <> Parking - With the outstanding turn out for the Tournament, along with a Flag Football League that also plays at Davis Park, parking will be at a premium on Saturday. We are working to arrange a shuttle van that will run all day Saturday to take you from a parking area in another part of the park to the soccer fields and back. You may also want to car pool as much as you can to help with the overall parking situation. Watch for more information on the parking situation later this week.

    <>Tournament T-shirts -. You can find the T-shirt Pre-Order form on our Web Site at http://www.challengesports.com/PonteVedra3v3/TshirtForm.htm Pre-Orders must reach us by Tuesday Dec 10 to be accepted

    <>Entries – Entries are posted on our Web Site. There is one Age Group where we are looking for a few teams;

    Adult – We have 2 adult teams and we are looking for 2 or 3 more to make a Division

    <>Coaching More than 1 team? – With more than 100 teams playing this weekend, and 12 fields in action, it is likely that there will be cases where both of yoru teams may have one or more games at the same time. Be prepared with an assistant coach who can cover for you if that happens..

    <>Referees – Alice Kirkpatrick is the Referee Assignor. There may still be some openings for referees to work a few games. You can contact Alice at AliceKpat@aol.com if you want to be considered for a spot as a referee.

    <>More Challenge Tournaments coming up – We have several more chances for teams to qualify for the Challenge 3v3 Championship to be held June 7 and 8 in Melbourne at the same time that they tune up for the January National Championships;

    Dec 28, 29 - Space Coast 3v3 Challenge

    Jan 4 - Apopka Winter 3v3 Challenge
