Coaches of Deerfield Beach Under 12 Boys DBYSA

Assistant Coach Percy Izquierdo, Tournament Director Rosa Stewart, and Head Coach Guillermo Yury Guerrero

The Scheduling team is working to have the schedules ready to post before 10PM on Sunday April 26 as promised.   We want everyone to be aware that our schedules are very complex because they include the effect of special requests from entered teams.  We make every effort to meet as many special requests from teams as possible, but requests often conflict with each other and we work to choose the schedule that is best for the most teams.

The result of all these special requests is that the schedule is an interdependent network of games that are linked by things like coacghes of more than 1 team.  Any change made after the schedule is finished and published could cause one of the original requests to be ignored.    For that reason we are not able to make changes to the schedule once it is published.

Teams should be prepared to play the schedule as it is posted with games starting as early as 8AM and as late as 5PM each day

Note for U8/9/10 Teams -   A reminder that the rules for 6v6 soccer vary from region to region across the state.  In this tournament, as in most tournaments, U9 and U10 teams will play with the offside rule.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS

We recommend that instead of printing the schedule for your team you give each player/family the link for the schedules so they can access the schedule online( or if you print it, ALSO give them the link).  We do not plan to make any changes between now and the weekend, but surprises like teams dropping out can make a change the best choice.  A printed schedule can cause problems if there are any late changes.

 WEATHER POLICY -

We do not stop play just for rain. If there is dangerous weather, especially the threat of lightning, we will suspend play until it is safe to resume.

During suspension of play for severe weather, everyone is asked to go to a safe place.  The best choice when you are at a tournament is inside a car .  When it is safe to resume play teams are to return to the field as quickly as possible. There is time built into the schedule to allow for weather delays throughout the tournament.

Saturday Tiebreakers for   Odd Numbered Divisions

Divisions with an odd number of teams will play elimination matches Sunday morning based on the ranking of the teams after Saturday's games.

If there is a tie in any of those groups after applying the rules in section 13 of the tournament rules, it will be handled like this

If both coaches agree,  a coin toss can be used to break the tie .

If both coaches do not choose the coin toss, teams will play a 10 minute mini game to break the tie.
